Recipes passed down for generations

From my abuela's kitchen to yours.

Everything on this menu starts with a recipe my grandmother cooked in Oaxaca — made from scratch, every single day, by people who still call this place "the family kitchen."

Dear neighbor — everything here is made the way my mom taught me, and the way her mom taught her. No shortcuts, no freezer bags. If we're out of something, it's because we ran out of the real thing, not because we never had it.

Fifteen years in, same recipe box

our story

A recipe box from Oaxaca, fifteen years of guests who became family.

Maria opened these doors with a handful of recipes written in her grandmother's handwriting and not much else. No investors, no test kitchen — just the same mole recipe, the same tamale fold, made the same way every single morning since. Regulars don't get a table; they get "their" table.

what folks say

Notes left on the table

★★★★★
"The mole alone is worth the drive. We've brought our whole extended family here for three birthdays now."
— Priya N.
★★★★★
"You can taste that nothing here comes from a freezer bag. The tamales taste like someone's grandmother made them, because she did."
— Daniel R.
★★★★★
"Got La Familia Card on visit one. We're on stamp six and already planning our quinceañera catering with them."
— The Alvarez family
